Singapore (7 April 2026) — Premiering at A rtScience Museum on 6 June, Into the Ocean: Journey Beneath is a landmark exhibition in collaboration with OceanX, one of the world’s leading ocean exploration organisations . Conceived as a flagship OceanX Education initiative, the exhibition invites visitors on a descent through the depths of the sea, from the sunlit surface waters to the darkest reaches of the ocean. At the heart of the exhibition is extraordinary footage captured by OceanX’s state-of-the-art research vessel, OceanXplorer , including those never shown before publicly.

In an era of accelerating environmental change and the urgent need for ocean conservation, Into the Ocean showcases the pioneering work of OceanX and pairs it with contributions from marine biologists, environmental scientists, researchers, creative technologists and artists. Through this interdisciplinary exhibition fosters a holistic understanding of ocean ecologies that is both approach, the scientifically rigorous and emotionally resonant.

“ArtScience Museum is excited to partner with OceanX on a major new exhibition about the seas that sustain life on Earth. Using advanced submersibles capable of filming at all depths of the ocean, OceanX has documented marine environments that remain unseen to most of us. These dramatic cinematic scenes are placed in dialogue with contemporary artworks, scientific specimens, and interactive activities that connect directly to marine conservation work. Into the Ocean builds a living bridge between the galler y and the ocean itself by enabling real‑world environmental action beyond the museum ,” said Honor Harger, Vice President of ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands. “We invite our visitors to journey beneath the waves with us, discovering the beauty and fragility of marine life, before resurfacing with new understanding .”

“What we’re trying to do with Into the Ocean is give people a real sense of what it means to explore the ocean. A lot of what we see on the OceanXplorer exists far beyond where people can go, so the challenge is how to make that real and accessible,” said Mark Dalio, Co - Founder and Co - CEO, OceanX. “This exhibition takes what we discover in the field, from the data to the imagery to the environments themselves and brings it to Singapore in a way that feels tangible. We’re really excited to be partnering with ArtScience Museum to bring this experience to life here.”

The exhibition is s tructured as a deep - sea voyage, unfold ing across five immersive zones – Descent , Photic Zone , Twilight Zone, Aphotic Zone and Resurfac e. Throughout the experience, visitors will encounter rarely seen deep - sea species including specimens on loan from Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum .

The expedition begins at the ocean’s surface, and offers the sensation of diving into the ocean. In the Descent, visitors glide through shade s of blue as the surface world gradually recedes . From here, the voyage moves into the Photic Zone , where sunlight still reaches and life begins . I mmersive visuals, sensory elements and interactive experiences introduce coral reef research from Singapore’s Southern Islands, microorganisms, plankton and environmental DNA. As the light gives way to the dim expanse of the Twilight Zone , visitors encounter data collected by the OceanXplorer, revealing the deep currents and temperature gradients that play a critical role in regulating Earth’s climate.

Descending further into the Aphotic Zone , visitors are introduced to surreal landscapes and extraordinary creatures adapted to extreme pressure and perpetual darkness. This section highlights how much of the ocean remains unexplored, yet is fundamental to life on Earth. Also featured in this section are specimens and corals from Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum .

The expedition culminates with the section titled Resurfac e, where visitors return to the surface and learn about marine restoration and conservation , including seagrass ecosystems. Each visitor will be invited to take part in an interactive experience that leads directly to seagrass restoration in Singapore.

By integrating scientific exploration and breathtaking images with deep - sea storytelling, physical specimens, art and interactive science, Into the Ocean takes visitors on an unforgettable voyage into the ocean’s hidden frontiers, reveal ing a multispecies world where ocean health and humanity ’s survival are inextricably intertwined.

Into the Ocean: Journey Beneath runs from 6 June 2026 till 1 November 2026. For more information on the exhibition, please visit https://www.marinabaysands.com/museum/exhibitions/into -the - ocean.html .
